Amira…

Born in Quebec, Amira Proulx grew up in a family of ten children in a spirit of cooperation and sharing. Guided by her parents, she learned very young to respect the rhythms of nature by observing the process of growth all the way to harvesting.

Her interest in a holistic approach and her formal studies in health sciences, aesthetics, nutrition, and herbalism have been incorporated in her 35 years of practice

In an intense soul searching, she undertook a series of workshops on dreams in order to better know herself. Thereafter, she met Twylah Nitsch, a Seneca grandmother who initiated her into the Medicine Wheel, the Wisdom, and the Prophecies of the Seneca people. This meeting was a turning point in Amira`s life and she has continued to deepen her teachings ever since.

In 1996, she published a book entitled “Enseignement Amérindien à Travers les Roues de Vie – Ciel et Terre en Fusion” (Native Teachings through the Wheels of Life - Sky and Earth in Fusion). Inspired by the Wisdom of the Elders, she then became a teacher and lecturer of the Wheel of Life, an exceptional tool of self-knowledge.

In the 1990’s, Amira underwent a training in herbalism at the “Armoire aux Herbes” with Daniele Laberge, a well-known pioneer, teacher, and writer in herbalism, and biodynamic agriculture. This led her to cultivate her own garden of flowers and medicinal plants in harmony with nature. Her consciousness was opened to the vast and subtle aspects of life which made her realize that true beauty is a manifestation of the inner being.

Her work as aesthetician is now focused on making a special line of products with an emphasis on feminine needs. This includes facial and body creams which incorporate flower elixirs, medicinal plants, and essential oils.

She continues as well to explore the field of oils and creams in her practice of a new therapy based on the Essenes and ancient Egypt. She and Jacques, her husband of 35 years marriage, coordinates and participate as co-teachers and assistants in the training of this new form of therapy in Quebec.

Jacques…

Jacques is the third of a very modest family of five children.  Being a good communicator since childhood, he discovers interests in teaching, through his 25-year career in the RCMP. He was trained in pedagogy and became instructor at the Academy of Police. He also obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration at the University of Ottawa. His interest in a healthy lifestyle led him, in the last ten years of his career, to become personal trainer and instructor in first aid and cardio-respiratory reanimation.

In 1995, Jacques’ life was transformed by a significant spiritual experience. He then retired and moved with his family to the Laurentians (mountainous country north of Montreal). Merging their knowledge and life experience, they undertook with great enthusiasm the creation of a holistic health and retreat center. A series of important initiatory steps led Jacques to recognize his strength and the depth of his commitment. He is now giving short conference on dream and symbol interpretation to develop greater autonomy complementing is involment in the anciant Egyptian-Essenian therapeutic care.
